Not every lesson in the Lesson Books requires writing (with many lessons children listen and sing to songs, work with manipulatives, and do kinesthetic activities such as running, jumping, dancing, twisting, and turning) but when it does it’s “consumable.” Q. I have a child going into the 8th grade who struggles a lot with math. He has learned math facts due to Kumon drills, but now hates math and has decided he is a failure at it. The multi-sensorial approach in Kit II should be perfect for him. He’ll be able to proceed at his own pace and fill the holes that came from his past rote-learning experience.
