What is Imputed Righteousness?
This is the righteousness which alone can restore us totally so as to be “… without blemish and free from accusation …” as we saw in Col. 1:22. It is the righteousness that belongs to Jesus Christ which He imputes to us when we believe and acknowledge His death on the cross for our salvation and surrender ourselves unconditionally to obey Him no matter what happens in our life through a life of faith. We read in Rom. 4:18-22: “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “so shall your offspring be … he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why it was credited to him as righteousness.” We read in 2 Cor. 5:21: “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” What is Imparted Righteousness? This is a
