Daniel C Fisher, renowned mastodon and mammoth expert at the University of Michigan, states that ‘short of returning to the past, you’d be hard pressed to get a better look at an extinct species.’ Wayne Labar, vice president of exhibitions at the Liberty Science Center, says that ‘other than bringing one back to life, it’s as close as you are going to get to seeing a live mammoth.’ LSC officials believe that it is a rare, first-hand look into the Ice Age.
