What is ImgMan?
ImgMan is a document management archiving application that stores industry-standard image files with a number of key fields (indices) linked to them. When a user needs to view a particular image, they simply enter sufficient information to locate the required image file and all matching files are shown in a list. There are two parts to an ImgMan database: the images and the index data. ImgMan allows one store the entire entity on a single media (like a hard disk) or to split these components up; storing the images on CD’s (or other removable media) and the database on a faster media. One of the advantages of ImgMan over many other document management solutions is that Griffyn have managed to create a product that does not require an external database or links to other products; i.e. it is entirely self-contained.
