What is IEEE 802.11 technology?
IEEE 802.11 is a suite of technical standards describing the requirements for wireless local area networks. IEEE 802.11b 11b/g are high-speed wireless access standards operating in the 2.4Ghz-unlicensed spectrum. They typically operate in an indoor environment with a peak output power of 100mW and can have a range of up to 50m–100m, although coverage will usually be limited to the size of a particular Telstra Wireless Hotspot Location (which will vary).
