What is IDNS and what does it do?
IDNS stands for Internationalised Domain Name System. It is a technology developed by i-DNS.net International. The IDNS technology allows end users to visit web sites by typing Internet addresses using non-English characters. This is achieved by adding functionality to the existing domain name system so that totally multilingual domain names can be resolved (or translated) into an IP address. Totally multilingual domain names are not aliases for English domain names – they are individually registered domain names in their own right. That’s not to say that you could not have five, different-language domain names all pointing to the same web page – just that each of those totally multilingual domain names is a unique and individually registered domain. So even if you did not have an English domain name at all you could still use your totally multilingual domain name(s) exclusively.
