What is HyperStar?

0

HyperStar takes advantage of Celestron’s Fastar system in which the secondary mirror of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is removed, a corrector lens is inserted, and a CCD camera is attached. This allows ultra-fast, wide-field CCD imaging. The HyperStar lens assembly is the actual corrector lens which allows the CCD to be mounted at the front of the scope. This lens is what determines the field of view, exact focal ratio, and image quality of the system. The HyperStar 14 is designed for use with Fastar-compatible Celestron 14″ SCTs.
