The hydropressure theory of crustal evolution & tectonic plate movement postulates that it is the water mass of the ocean is responsible for the evolution of the earth crust and also helps tectonic plate movement.The whole mass of water as one unit put pressure on the earth at the very time of crust generation and consolidation during the formation of earth from the hot molten gaseous state to liquid to solid state.This theoty is newly formulated by the geologist m.r.mahapatra ,gpvt of orissa.india.which again warrants further research.
