What is Hope Street Online?
Hope Street Online is the distance learning component of Hope Street Academy. Hope Street Academy is an accredited high school in the Topeka, Kansas 501 School District. Hope Street Online will become a charter school in the fall of 2001. Charter school status allows Hope Street to seek waivers from some state requirements compared to traditional schools and allows it to seek state and federal start-up grants. This enables Hope Street Academy to be an alternative high school for students seeking state accredited diplomas outside of the “traditional” 8-3pm class schedule presented by most educational systems.
