What is Honours Standing?
A student will be granted the status of graduation “with Second Class Honours” if, upon graduation, she or he has attained either a Cumulative Average or a Graduation Average of 65 percent or more. A student will be granted the status of graduation with “with First Class Honours” if, upon graduation, she or he has attained either a Cumulative Average or a Graduation Average of 80 percent or more. The two ways to calculate an honours standing are: 1) by CUM average, and 2) by graduation average. For full details about averages and honour standing >> The Cumulative Average is based on all courses that are taken by a student at Queen’s University during a regular session as part of an Engineering degree program. Results obtained in any course taken outside a regular session to meet a program requirement are included in the Cumulative Average.
