Each cluster includes a section of HON 181: Foundations of Engaged Learning. This is a two-credit hour seminar that all first-year Honors students take during their first semester at Miami University. This seminar will help introduce you to the mission, requirements, and e-portfolio review process of the University Honors Program. This seminar will meet once a week as a large group of approximately 60 students; a member of the Honors program advising staff will facilitate this large group session. Then, each large group will divide into smaller groups of approximately 20 students, and each smaller group will meet another time during the week for a small discussion group section, which an upper-class Honors peer facilitator will lead. Throughout HON 181, you will learn how to reflect on your learning experiences and how to articulate what and how you have learned in writing.
