The middle row is also called the “home row” – When your fingers are on this row, they are “home.” After hitting keys on the other rows, always bring your fingers back “home”. The fingers of the Left Hand are placed on the keyboard in this order: * Little Finger on the A * Ring finger – S * Middle finger – D * Index finger – F The fingers of your right hand are placed on the Home Row in this order: * Little Finger – semi-colon (The colon is above it on the same key). * Ring – L * Middle – K * Index – J On some keyboards, there’s a little bump on the J key and the F key (and on other keyboards on other keys of the home row).
