What is HMV.COM?
HMV.com is the online arm of HMV (which stands for His Master’s Voice), one of the leading music/video companies in the world, with retail stores in Canada, the U.S., United Kingdom, Japan and more. Like its competitors, HMV.com carries movies (videos and DVDs), CDs, digital downloads and lots more. I find its selection comparable to Amazon.com and the others I mentioned. Pricing The company is based in Canada and so all prices are shown in Canadian currency. However, following every price is the approximate U.S. price based on recent exchange rate and so U.S. buyers like me can easily tell approximately how much an item is. Because of the strong exchange rates, at times you can find a bargain when shopping at HMV.com. For example, on the date of this review, the Toy Story Disney DVD is selling for Cdn $28.99 which comes out to be about U.S. $19 plus change but it is U.S. $25.49 at Amazon.com.
