Messiah Lutheran School was founded in 1943 by members of Messiah Lutheran Church on the present church property located at the intersection of Main & Pacific In Independence, Missouri just south of the historic Independence Square. The founders of Messiah Lutheran School were dedicated to providing children in Eastern Jackson County a Christian education. The School continued to expand and additions were made to the original church building to accommodate the School.
