What is Hillingdon SACRE ?
Hillingdon Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education is composed of representatives of local faith groups, teachers, councillors and borough officers. Together, these people aim to advise the LEA on religious issues and aim to support the development of religious education and collective worship in schools. Hillingdon SACRE is also responsible for ensuring that maintained schools in the authority have an ‘agreed syllabus’. This is a legal document detailing, for Hillingdon Schools, what religious education should be taught and at what stage.
