What is “heuristic generic” disinfection?
Heuristic disinfection is the newest type of antiviral technology. Using methods similar to those of heuristic scanning, the program attempts to analyze the object to see how it was infected, and how it can be returned to its original state. Heuristic disinfectors have not had a very good success rate. Even worse, they sometimes harm “good” programs. Heuristic disinfection should only be used as a “last ditch” effort.
