What is her real age? Why Korean age always plus 1?
Eunhye was a 1984er. She is now 25 years old. Also, there is a difference between Korean age and Western age. In Korea, once you are born, you are considered to be 1 year old. And even though Koreans celebrate their birthdays on the date of their birth, traditionally you don’t actually turn a year older on your birthday, but rather everyone turns a year older on New Year’s Day. Therefore, since Eunhye’s birthday is on the nearly end of the year, we always hear people said she’s 2 years older than she actually is with the western count. For example, in 2009, Eunhye was going to turn 25 in 3rd October (western), but we heard everyone said she’s 26 for the whole year despite the fact that she was only 24.
