What is helter skelter?
The term helter skelter originally meant “in chaotic and disorderly haste.” The term has been around since the 1600’s but was regrettably re-popularized by Charles Manson as a term he used to describe what he had envisioned as a racial uprising and war.Manson was obsessed with the Beatles White Album which includes this term. Helter Skelter is actually a British carnival ride that resembled a lighthouse with a slide that spiraled around the entire structure. This was what the Beatles were referring to in their song Helter Skelter.
