Heavy Gear is the first game based in a relatively new science fiction gaming universe of the same name. It comes from Dream Pod 9, the gaming division of Montreal-based IANUS Publications Inc. Heavy Gear is both a tactical game *AND* a RPG with rules for roleplaying, and both tactical and strategic combat. These two sets of rules have been designed to intermesh perfectly so that values from one can be transferred directly to values in the other.
