What is HealthWave?
HealthWave is a program for uninsured or underinsured children and low-income families who do not have access to affordable health insurance. The HealthWave program receives both state and federal funding. HealthWave provides low-cost or no-cost health insurance to eligible families with children. HealthWave provides most eligible members with a Primary Care Provider (PCP), to coordinate all aspects of their health care and preventive care services. HealthWave expands the availability of affordable health insurance for uninsured families and children. It also increases health care efficiency services and controls costs.
