What is Health Maintenance Organisation?
In my previous article I promised to give more information about HMO and PPO. Let me start with HMO. HMO is considered to be the oldest health care organization in the United States. The main concept of this organization is providing health care in exchange for usual determined payment fee. HMO offers its client to have access to numerous health care benefits. HMO also has a wide range of plans to choose to satisfy individual needs of customers. HMO is interested to offer only high-qualified medical service to its customers, so it involves: – doctors to become a part of the health plan (you will have to visit them in medical centers or centralized clinics); – a group of physicians or an individual physician by contracting them (in this case, you will get medical care in private office).
