The Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) Gap Grant assistance is available through the Washington State Employment Security Department to help make health care more affordable by assisting qualified TAA participants maintain their health insurance. The HCTC Gap Grant is meant to assist eligible TAA participants by paying 65% of the monthly amount of the medical insurance premium (for up to three months) for qualified health insurance plans during the IRS/HCTC registration processing time, which is 6 to 8 weeks. Gap payment assistance is available in the form of advanced or reimbursement payment. Please contact your local Trade Act representative for assistance concerning eligibility and enrollment requirements.
