black answered it rather well but I’ll have a shot and try to provide a bit more explanation. In general the structures of black holes are simple. Because a black hole’s center is considered a singularity it’s size is determined by something else called the Schwarzschild Radius. This is not a real physical construct but a mathematical one that describes the edge of the black hole where once inside, you can never escape. Hawking radiation originates here. I should explain another process first. In all of space, even in perfect vacuums there are particles being created. They are called virtual particles and they always pop into existence in opposite pairs, such as electrons and positrons. They do not have real mass or charge or anything, but instead are said to have virtual mass and virtual charge. Normally these particles appear and then hit each other and disappear almost instantly.
