On some Sony CLIEs like the NR70, NR70V, and T665C, hardware acceleration of JPEG decompression is possible. On devices using Palm OS 5, ARM-accelerated decompression is used. AcidImage will detect and use fast JPEG decompression when it is possible. Make sure your JPEGS are saved in “baseline” format, and not “progressive” format. Progressive JPEGs load more slowly.
