What is happening with unsocial hours?
After testing in the Early Implementer sites in England and four project sites in Scotland, it was decided that the new AfC proposals for unsocial hours should be subject to further consideration and negotiation. In the interim, nursing staff working within the NHS will continue to be paid on the unsocial (special duty) payments they currently have under the Whitley arrangements or in accordance with other existing local arrangements. Council is committed to consulting with members on any new proposals for unsocial hours.
