What is happening with The Food Supplements Directive and to our supplements, vitamins and minerals?
As part of the Save Our Supplements campaign Consumers for Health Choice (CHC) has launched one million leaflets into circulation via health food shops, with a target to match one letter to each leaflet in their latest letter-writing offensive, aiming to generate at least one hand written letter for every leaflet issued. The immediate danger from the Food Supplements Directive is the setting of dose levels for vitamins and minerals, and there are serious concerns that the German preference for low levels will prevail. Once again, CHC is relying on the support of retailers to hand out leaflets to their customers and to encourage them to write to their MP and at least one of their regional MEPs. CHC have made it easy for consumers by putting a suggested letter on the reverse side of the leaflet.
