What is happening with Alitalia?

As I can see it from Italy (but it’s just my opinion) Alitalia is having problems for different reasons. 1 – Our Department of Treasure has been the main shareholder of Alitalia: that means putting public money into a company that didn’t work as expected. 2 – Alitalia’s top management had ruled the company without facing responsibilities and wrong decisions. When a top manager failed, there was no one to blame, nor there was a tough control of expenses. 3 – Trade unions are strong: people in Alitalia usually ask for the same retribution of other companies in Europe, working less. 4 – The actual economical situation in Italy pushed the Government to make hard choices: one of these is to avoid wastes. After last loan from the Government, Alitalia is experimenting lack of liquidity. Even if the company is technically reliable, there is no one that would guarantee the same past investiments and financial treatment to its workers, but the reworked industrial development plan seems too hard
