What is happening to those hoodlums arrested with dangerous weapons on the Lagos- Ibadan Expressway?
The total number arrested and arraigned in court now is over 50. All of Them, have been charged to court. We have arrested lots of hoodlums in connection with public disturbances, all of them have been charged to court for various offences bordering on breach of peace, unlawful possession of dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of arms and ammunition. Over 50 were arraigned in court, before the court resumed their strike. We take them to court in batches. Some politicians and union leaders have called on the police authority to remove you as police commissioner in the state? Well, everybody is free to his or her opinion especially in a democratic setting like ours. I don’t know if they realize that it is only the sitting governor that has the power to depose any security officer in his state based on substantive evidence of incompetence and such will write the Inspector General of Police, not a letter to the Presidency or National Assembly.
