What is happening in the Middle East, regarding Israel, Palestine and Iran dealing nuclear arms with Russia?
First of all, Iran and Russia have political and economic ties anyway with regards to Iran’s natural resources and Russia’s military technology. China is also a major player here as it recently signed a deal with Iran for a oil pipeline. Same goes for Pakistan and India. What you read was not actually an arms deal, rather the green light for the activation of Iran’s nuclear reactor which will be activated by March 2011. Israel fears this, with good reason, as a threat to it’s existence. The US is on Israel’s side on this issue. What they fear is that a nuclear armed Iran will become more belligerent and start a war with Israel by using any of it’s proxy armies, like Hezbolla, which are in Palestine. By this point, it would be difficult to approach and stop a nuclear armed Iran which is the main fear. Iran itself has repeatedly said it it will use the reactor for peaceful purposes.
