Hey it does sound like your son has Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. The disease usually goes round communities in bouts every few years. My eldest son had it when he was four. I was a child minder at the time and one of the children in my care passed it on to my son (the child’s parents thought that their son had been in contact with some weedkiller in their garden the day before so hadn’t worried about getting him checked out by a doctor!). Anyway, the illness usually presents as blisters on the hands, feet and in the mouth and although these may be quite sore or uncomfortable in most cases the illness just runs its course with no more symptoms. Try easing the mouth soreness with teething gel or ice lollies. Your son may be reluctant to eat Sometimes, HF&M can cause fever & vomiting so keep a close check. Try to reduce any fever with children’s paracetamol/ibuprofen. Also keep a close check for signs of infection in the blisters/ulcers – try to keep your child’s hands & feet as clean as
