What is halogen light?

0

Halogen light is characterised by its sparkle, clarity and bright white colour. Halogen fittings are available now in mains voltage and low voltage versions. Low voltage versions are particularly useful (indeed, they must be used) where there is any risk of water coming into contact with a fitting. These use a transformer which literally transform the larger 240 mains voltage supply that is standard in the UK into the lower 12 volt supply. Transformers have to be concealed in a ceiling void. The advantage of using mains voltage halogen downlighters or spotlights is that they do not need a transformer so you do not have to find a space in which to hide them, nor have this additional cost over and above that of the fitting.
