What is H.264 AVC?
H.264 AVC (Advanced Video Coding) – also known as MPEG-4 Part 10 – is a new major video codec standard that replaces several popular formats and offers significant advantages over them. These advantages include: advanced compression that results in a significant data rate savings; a network abstraction layer designed for efficient transmission of data; and presets for a wide variety of applications ranging from video telephony to high-end broadcasting.
