what is GSM?
GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications. This technology was originally developed as a pan-European standard for digital mobile telephony, but it has quickly become the world’s most widely used mobile system. In Europe, Asia, and Australia, GSM operates on the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequencies. In North and South America, GSM occupies the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies. The Wizz SaverSIM® works with all these frequencies.
GSM is a digital standard first offered commercially in 1991 and is currently the most popular mobile phone transmission technology in the world. One of the great benefits of a GSM phone is the addition of a SIM card, or “Subscriber Identification Module.” This little chip slips into the back of GSM phones and provides all of the users personal information. This includes contacts and calendar information in most cases, and more importantly the subscribers personal identification information. Having this information on removable chip enables a GSM phone user to move a SIM card between mobile phones and still receive voice calls to the same number. It also prevents user from having to re-input personal information each time a new phone is purchased.
The acronym GSM stands for Global System for Mobile communications. Originally developed for use in Europe, GSM now controls over 70% of the global cellular market. • How can I choose color of the phone? Wiredia doesn’t guarantee the color of the phone if it’s not specified on the web site. • What accessories come along with the phone? Wiredia.com guarantees only manual, battery and home charger (additional US adaptor included if needed). Any additional accessories would solely depend on the phone manufacturer only. As the manufacturer reserves the right to change the accessory content. • What if I got the wrong charger? Most of our cell phone products are purchased overseas and may come with European or Asian home chargers, U.S converter adapters will be shipped along with your order. Orders shipped international do not come with European or Asian converter adapters. Customers may need to purchase converter adapters on there own discretion.
