What is greyhound racing?
It is exactly what it sounds like. Eight dogs race around a track chasing after a mechanical rabbit for the amusement of humans. The first dog past the finish line wins. They choose the winning greyhound based on past performance and how “lucky” they think the dog’s name is. Why greyhounds? Greyhounds are fast. They can reach speeds up to 45 mph in a relatively short distance. Only one other animal on land can beat that speed – cheetahs.
