Golden and silver goal is with regards to extra time in football when no team has been able to secure the victory in 90 minutes of normal time. Golden goal means that if one team scores a goal in extra time they are immediately declared the winners… Whereas in silver goal even if a team does score a goal the opposition have an oppurtunity to get back into the game if the 30 minutes of extra time have not elapsed.
