What Is Goaltimate in Ultimate Frisbee?
“As ultimate Frisbee has evolved, it’s spawned several new ultimate Frisbee sports. One of them is similar to ultimate Frisbee. It’s called goaltimate and goaltimate is played similar to ultimate Frisbee. The field is a lot smaller and instead of having an end zone to score in, you have more of a goal. And the goal is delineated by an arch of PVC. The arch is about eighteen feet wide at its base and about twelve feet high at the tallest point. Behind the goal is a semi circle of about eighteen feet deep at its deepest point. There, instead of having a full field, you have more like half court basketball. You have a clear line. The clear line is about thirty-five yards in front of the goal and the object is, it’s a four man, four man team as well. The object is similar to ultimate. The players get the Frisbee, establish a pivot foot, try to throw to their team mates and instead of scoring in the end zone, you score in the goal.
