UTC stands for Coordinated Universal Time which was previously known as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Zulu (or “Z”) time is used in the military and in navigation as a term for UTC. Zulu, UTC, and GMT can be considered equivalent when fractions of a second are not important.
