What is GIM?
The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, or GIM, is a therapeutic modality which uses music and mental imagery to access the unconscious mind. In GIM therapy, work is done in a non-ordinary state of consciousness with the music acting as catalyst and co-therapist along with the GIM practitioner. Clients go through and uncovering process in which they are allowed to come to their own insights. GIM is an experiential therapy in which the client not only relates to issues on an intellectual level, but on an emotional level where real expression and change can take place. GIM encourages and promotes the body’s own natural tendency towards healing. The potential for self actualization and deep healing is very great.
