Gertrude Baines (born 6 April 1894) is an American supercentenarian who, at age 115 years, 75 days (as of this post), is the oldest living person in the world according to Guinness World Records, since the January 2009 death of Portuguese woman Maria de Jesus. An African American, Baines lives in Los Angeles. Just before her 115th birthday, Baines was hospitalized and treated for dehydration, but she made a quick recovery.
