Gerontology is the study of aging. The Institute in Gerontology at Saint Joseph College aspires to the philosophy that aging is a natural process, not a disease or a problem. The Institute is changing the way gerontology is taught and perceived. Both the graduate and undergraduate programs in gerontology take a developmental perspective, not a service delivery model. In that respect aging is seen as a natural progression of life. Saint Joseph College provides a life span perspective of healthy development of the whole person, regardless of age. Students of the Institute learn and participate in this exciting developmental approach.
