What is Gerber/Nestlé Nutrition doing to address the BPA issue?
In response to changing consumer preferences, and as leaders in early childhood nutrition, Gerber and Nestlé Nutrition are committed to making all food and formula packaging BPA-free as soon as possible. We are closely monitoring new developments in the science surrounding BPA. To help parents make informed choices, As a first step, Gerber and Nestlé Nutrition have committed to making our entire line of accessories products (baby bottles, pacifiers and cups) BPA-free by the end of 2008. In addition, Gerber and Nestlé Nutrition are committed to making all food and formula packaging BPA-free as soon as possible. However, it is important to note that any alternative solution in liquid infant formula packaging must be carefully assessed from a food safety perspective so as not to compromise the current levels of commercial sterility and nutrient delivery assurance.
