What is Geophysical mapping?
A7: Geophysical mapping is the use of magnetic or other sensors coupled to a mapping system such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) to build a digital map of the anomalies in the area being surveyed. These systems have the potential to differentiate between actual OE and false positives, and has significant advantages when surveying large areas, searching for pits and trenches, and where items may be buried deeper than the hand held equipment can detect them. Both approaches are being used at FNOD where applicable.
