What is genital wart virus infection?
Genital wart virus infections are caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). There are over 70 different types of wart virus affecting various parts of the body. HPV is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections and many people carry the virus without knowing it. It is estimated that 30% or more of the population is infected with the virus, but only a small number of infected people develop warts.
