What is GCSE Resistant Materials all about?
· Covers the three main materials: metal, plastic and wood. · Will increase knowledge and understanding of materials through written and practical tasks. · Develops strategies for analysing and evaluating products and processes. · Develops strategies for developing, planning and products. · Considers consumer needs with moral, cultural and environmental issues. · Studies the development and influence of design and manufacture from the past to the present. · Development of practical ability including the use of CAD/CAM. · Production of quality individual 3D products based on selected materials. · Projects could include storage, gifts, toys, candleholders, household and garden equipment.
