What is Gasoil?
Gasoil is a petroleum product that is not as clean as gasoline but is much cheaper than fuel. Earlier this year, Lebanon began to import industrial gasoil into the country that has lower sulphur content than the previous gasoil (0.2%), therefore making it more environmentally friendly. However by 2003, the Government has stopped importing Gasoil (0.2%) into Lebanon for the use of vehicles. Gasoil is only allowed to be imported into the country for industry use and the Gasoil EN590 is specifically designed only for taxis and vehicles, causing less air pollution.
