Gallbladder sludge is a mixture of microscopic particles which include cholesterol crystals and calcium. The gallbladder sludge is considered to be precursor of the gallstones but it is not clear when and at what size, these sludge particles are converted in to stones. Because gallbladder sludge continues to form and disappear over time, usually without any symptoms.
