What is fused glass?
Fusing glass began with the ancient Mesopotamians some 3500 years ago. Two are more pieces of glass usually with colors in between are fired in a kiln until the glass gets hot enough to fuse together – to become one piece. THE TRAVIS COLLECTION OF FUSED-GLASS began a revival of this ancient art form in the early 1980s. Since they developed by their own technique, the process may be somewhat different than other artists.
