What is Friday Night Revue?
If you take equal parts primetime drama and Saturday Night Live, mix-in a serving of VH1 Where Are They Now, and sprinkle on some Entertainment Tonight, you pretty much have what best describes Friday Night Revue. This unique series, created by television broadcasting student Joe Parrington and produced by Dream Logic Films, features local actors from the theatre community, got it’s start in 1993 at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. After 3 years, the series moved on to airing newly produced episodes on cable in Seattle, as well as Pierce, Kitsap, and other local counties. An hour in length and airing weekly, Friday Night Revue has featured such celebrity guests as Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Glover, Meatloaf, supermodel Carol Alt, and Leonard Nimoy as well as musical artists like Neil Finn (Crowded House) and the legendary Tony Bennett. In addition, we have a cast of local actors who perform both comedy and dramatic sketches.
