What is freelancing?
Freelancing is a job system where the employee is not under contract to one particular employer. People who freelance include but are not limited to writers, artists and musicians. In essence, a freelance employee sells his or her product or service to a willing buyer. There are advantages and disadvantages to freelancing. The advantage is that the employee is able to pick and choose assignments, create his or her own schedule, and work according to individual needs and interests. The disadvantages are the feast-famine cycle, where there is lots of work at one point in time but the work pool may quickly dry up, as well as the lack of benefits.
