What is formative and summative assessment?
Formative assessment Formative assessment is assessment that is used primarily for feedback, i.e. to allow students and – teachers to test – knowledge and skills in order to discover whether concepts have been learnt and understood. Formative assessment is also an opportunity to practice the kinds of assessment formats that are used in the ANU Medical School program’s barrier exams.
